What is Strategic Planning? (I)
Each time we are more consciously the changing world we live in, for example, some years ago were in an excellent economic situation and now immersed in a deep crisis, a few years ago there was a boom in terms of volunteering and now it seems we are immersed in an atmosphere of pasotismo. Without intending to do any kind of analysis, the point is that in a few years it seems that many things have changed and our association is not alien to this changing environment. Although FHS has changed: working on our own in Central America, plantexándose back to Africa, but Sub-Saharan, new homes, rexurdindo other, much more multidisciplinary, more aware of the potential of voluntary work.
We must begin to design the FHS as an open system in constant interaction with the environment, the flow of volunteers who come and go, something dynamic, which should be in accordance with the changes and you have to anticipate them, learning that has capacity strategic. This last word is the key ... if we are in constant interaction with our environment, we must adapt and try anticiparnos changes that periodically occur in it (globalization, changes in information technology, changing values).
Strategic planning can be defined as a systematic and objective approach to decision making in an organization. Therefore, it can be considered as a tool that allows organizations to prepare to face the situations that arise in the future, thus helping to direct their efforts to realistic targets for performance.
The next entry will talk about how facing a strategic planning process .. .
