Alicante (sic) i societat culture # 11

(sic) i societat culture is an exhibition and publishing project undertaken by the MuVIM and curated by Álvaro de los Angeles .
The project revolves around the neighborhood Velluters from a social and cultural. The sample consisted of editing and display of 12 issues of a weekly newspaper that has emerged (from the opening of the exhibition until its closure) and included collaborations with artists, journalists, academics, etc ... reflecting on different aspects of Velluters neighborhood.

LaTejedoraCCEC has participated at 11 with graphic intervention I love Chinese.

This is the text that accompanies involvement in the publication:

This inventory comes after observation of one of the tourist centers of Valencia more frequent (Mercat, and drifting toward the Market Carmen), which sold many souvenirs and reminders that summarize the most picturesque places or traditions of the city.

castizo The souvenir serves no social reasons: ceramic ashtrays, postcards, keychains, magnets, fans ... all look impressions and inscriptions that illustrate the virtues typical and treasures of this land, beaches, paella, infrastructure, monuments, aunties in bikini, bulls, flags and banners .... who are also new trends together: toys, trash vintage, accessories ...

But come on, that there is nothing Velluters this .. and that which is in the heart of the city.

Our proposal is based on a catalog of trends with a range of products that build on topics of neighborhood Velluters to challenge degradation and abandonment. These products range from the typical souvenir of fashion to accessories or other items that have fallen into disuse. While

is ironic about the type of publications provide the latest trends in modern life, following a design and a stereotyped structure that marks the cool of a city circuit, fading does not offer its pages.
